About Mosquero
We are a small close-knit community where everybody knows each other and everyone is ready to help their neighbor. Even though we are very rural, our community does offer most amenities. We have two churches, an excellent school system, a restaurant, a brewery, and general store, and, as the County Seat, are the location of the County Court House.

Most recently, the Village of Mosquero boundaries have changed, the first time since 1908 when the Village was founded, to include properties north of the Mosquero School along Division Road.

Village Projects Up & Coming

Fire Station
A new Fire Station is in the works to be located off of Brown & 3rd St. This new fire station is still in the design phase but will include additional bays for Fire vehicles, a conference room, and the Village's first EV charging location.

Chris B. Cordova Veteran's Memorial Park
While the Veteran's Memorial has seen some improvements over the past few years, the Village is in the process of designing much needed updates to make better use of this outdoor space. Updates to be included are a 30x30ft standing pavilion located in the center of the park, a 26ft Octagonal Gazebo, new playground area and equipment, walking path, and an additional public restroom kiosk.
Mainstreet Signage
With help from Harding County Mainstreet and New Mexico Economic Development, new wayfaring and "Welcome To" signs will be installed in Roy, Solano, and Mosquero. Plans for construction are tentatively scheduled to start somewhere before the end of 2025.

Road Work
Division Road, the long standing boundary line between the Village of Mosquero and Harding County, is soon to be under construction. Design is already in progress and plans to get the west half the road (Lakefront Blvd to Highway 39 - West) will tentatively begin in the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, the paving of Lakefront Blvd & 2nd St are also in the design phase.
